While people like Brewer don't deserve to live after the heinous crimes they've committed, when even the slightest chance exists that we execute an innocent person, the act must stop. Sometimes the guilty have to be spared in order to protect the innocent and I'm OK living in a society that understands this. Hopefully this shift is coming from a realization that the death penalty is not about the guilty, it’s about the innocent.
